Description

The lake is calling and you must go! With 140′ of sandy beach directly on Lake Michigan, The Great Lake House is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones. This tranquil, updated home and “quiet side” favorite is centrally located just north of Jacksonport and south of Bailey’s Harbor, but just mere minutes from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the peninsula. Awake to the sunrise over Lake Michigan, enjoy walks on the beach, relax in front of a campfire in the evenings, toasting s’mores and listening to the waves on the shore of the second largest of the Great Lakes.

In the warmer months The Great Lake House is conveniently located to many popular Door County attractions. Take kayak tours at Cave Point Park with its limestone cliffs and caves, explore shipwreck tours, hiking in Whitefish Dunes amongst Wisconsin’s tallest dunes, or enjoy a round of golf at Maxwelton Braes Golf Course. Whether you’re interested in wineries and breweries, lighthouses, galleries, restaurants, shopping, or you enjoy e-biking, Segway tours, boat and trolley tours, you’ll find this and more.

For the cooler months come and see our trees ablaze with fall colors, visit our u-pick farms and orchards, enjoy several fall festivals, or even take the ferry to Washington Island and visit the famous lavender fields. For those looking for winter activities, enjoy snowshoeing, cross country skiing, fat tire biking, snowmobiling, horse drawn sleigh rides as well as the stunning ice formations at Cave Point Park and along the rocky shores of Door County, or ring in the New Year at the Cherry Drop Celebration. The Great Lake House is a destination that cant be missed!
